The Cabot Trail Discovery Tour explores Nova Scotia’s most iconic road trip. From the rugged coastlines and majestic mountains to the charming small fishing villages, this tour provides breathtaking viewpoints, endless photo opportunities, and local culinary experiences.

We follow the coastline as we climb and descend mountains and traverse the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Picturesque examples of typical Nova Scotian fishing villages dot the Cabot Trail’s winding roads. Hear the crash of the ocean against the craggy stone shorelines, feel the sand between your toes, and smell the salt air at the many coastal stops along the 300-kilometre journey.

What to expect.

  • Your guide will meet you at the parking lot of the Baddeck Visitor Centre, 454 Chebucto Street, at 8:45 am. It is easy to find as it is a brightly painted yellow building on the corner next to Tom’s Pizza (highly recommended).

  • The tour departs at 9 am and usually returns to the visitor centre by 6 pm This can be affected by many factors like weather or construction. In fact, when the weather is fantastic we tend to find the tours run a little longer.

  • This is a full day of which half of the day is spent in the van travelling and hearing guide stories and half is spent outside of the van exploring fantastic scenery and engaging with nature.

  • There are many stops for photos throughout the day (some guests have counted more than 25). We make scheduled restroom stops but if you need an extra just ask your Driver Guide.

  • We stop for lunch halfway through the day (cost of meal not included in price).

  • There are a couple of stops which may involve a short walk/hike. If you do not wish to participate just let your guide know!

Good Cheer Discovery Tour

Nova Scotia’s history of spreading good cheer dates back to 1606 when famed explorer, Samuel de Champlain, established “L’ordre de Bon Temps” to provide good food and good times, keeping up the health and morale of the colonists through the harsh winters. In this spirit, we offer a tour designed to toast the long lineage of quality food and drink producers on the island. Leave the car keys behind while you enjoy craft beer or wine tastings on the banks of the Bras d’Or Lakes, and a tour and sample at Glenora Distillery – Cape Breton’s only single malt whiskey distillery.
